Dr Rachel Mahoney OsteopathThroughout Rachel’s extensive career in osteopathic medicine, she has developed a particular interest in musculoskeletal pain, sporting injuries, and biomechanics. She also enjoys helping people suffering from sciatica, persistent postural strain, joint pain, headache and migraine, nerve injuries, plantar fasciitis, vertigo, and TMJ (jaw) disorders.

Rachel takes a patient-centered approach to osteopathic treatment, with a focus on education and self-management to help people take control of their own recovery.

Rachel can relate to chronic pain having had back surgery in 2008 for disc prolapses. She injured her lower back in 2006 and that was the last day she practiced Osteopathy for four years. Prior to surgery, she was told she would never practice Osteopathy or play sport again. After a lot of rehabilitation, she was able to resume practicing Osteopathy. It was a long recovery however Rachel feels it has enabled her to become a better Osteopath as she truly understands what it means to be in chronic pain and how it affects both the body and mind.

Dr Rachel Mahoney is available for consultations at Completely Aligned on Mondays. She offers late afternoon and evening appointments. When she is not  consulting in Camden you’ll find her treating her other favourite patient group, those of the 4-legged variety.
