Meet Dr Lydia Thompson (Osteopath & Lactation Consultant )

Dr Lydia Thompson is a qualified Osteopath and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Upon completion of her studies in Osteopathy in Melbourne, Lydia travelled and has worked in both Brisbane and Sydney as an Osteopath helping people with a broad range of both chronic and acute musculoskeletal complaints such as neck and back pain. Lydia enjoys providing general Osteopathic treatment to all patients and age groups, though her area of interest and expertise lies in women’s health, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and paediatrics.
Lydia uses a range of Osteopathic techniques alongside Optimal Maternal Positioning and Spinning Babies techniques to help support women through their pregnancy and prepare them for their birth. Lydia is then able to offer breastfeeding support as an IBCLC as well as paediatric osteopathic treatment to their newborn.
Further knowledge and training
Lydia is currently undertaking further studies in Nutrition and Naturopathy.
Lydia has spent the years since graduating as an Osteopath undertaking further study to help her provide more comprehensive holistic care, particularly to women during their pregnancy and the postpartum period. This has seen Lydia gain her international certification as a Lactation Consultant (whilst nursing her newborn).
